Every now and then (read: rarely) I break out the watercolor set that I bought for myself years ago after obsessively following the great PaperFashion! I loved the vibrancy of her palette, and it inspired me to spread my wings outside of my normal creative realm. Prints of some of my first illustrations, including a mini series of girls with bows in their hair, are available in my online shop!
These days, I stick to playing with color and creating patterns/compositions with simple shapes for my own amusement. Because I follow so many talented artists on Instagram, I'm constantly being reminded that it's simply a hobby for me - nowhere near pro status!
Below was an exercise in color and controlling my brush stroke with the watercolor.
